Agar Plate Art!

I’ve been trying to incorporate two of the things I like most: art and science! 

I’ve always been fascinated by agar plate art and it’s pretty easy to do – just spread a bacteria sample on an agar plate in the pattern you want. 

I use plates that didn’t set properly and old bacteria samples I’m not planning on using anymore (in other words, stuff I would normally throw out). I’ve only tried a few simple designs at the moment. If I can find some more fine-tipped swabs, maybe I can try some more complicated things.
